Newton Club Inauguration

The inauguration of science club was held on Saturday 18/11/2017 at 9.00 a.m. The day bloomed with invocation to god almighty. The ceremony was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. Arul Anthony, Principal Dr. Palson Kennedy, ECE HOD Dr. Jasmine Jeni by lighting the traditional kuthu vilaku.

The principal honoured the chief guest with the shawl and ECE HOD our principal with shawl. The welcome speech was addressed by Ms. Dorothy, Assistant professor of chemistry. Then the felicitation address was given by the chief guest, he motivated the students with his wonderful speech in the area of research.

The student president of the club Syed Naseef described the objectives and activities of the club. The council members of the club were introduced to the students. Principal addressed the students with his inspiring and motivational speech.

Then the vote of thanks was delivered by the club secretary A. Keerthana and finally the programme ended with national anthem.

A science Exhibition project was arranged by the students to demonstrate scientific concepts on a small scale. After the inauguration the chief guest along with principal and Hod’s went to look at the display of models. The model was displayed in the Zeta block.

Models based on various technical and scientific concepts which include Robotics, sensor based programmes, rain water indicator, renewable energy sources, Efficient cars, etc., were show cased by the participants, throughout the day.

Dr. Arul Anthony as our esteemed guest judged the models and award their verdicts. More than 100 students participated in the said event, which includes 25 contesting groups and volunteers.

Faculty members, staffs and students came to individually encourage, observe and appreciate the efforts of the participants. The idea was to inculcate a spirit of competition to ensure the best possible ideas from the students.

Around 4.00 p.m. valedictory function was organized in the conference hall. Principal along with ECE HOD distributed the certificates and the trophies to the students.

ECE students were awarded the First position, second and third positions went to Mechanical students respectively. Apart from this certificate of participation and certificate of appreciation were given to the participants as well as the winners. Trophies were awarded to the deserving candidates. Finally the programme ended with national anthem.
