Culturals and Sports Day

Chennai, July 12 - PERI Institute of Technology (PERI IT) conducted its Sports/ Cultural Day on 12th July 2014. The cultural events started at 10.00 am with the traditional தமிழ்த்தாய் வாழ்த்து (Tamilthai vaazthu). This was followed by a welcome address by students. The Culturals was graced by Mr. Amudhavanan, Vijay TV, who acted as the chief guest and also gave a scintillating performance.

PERI IT students presented dances, skits and memes. The college bands, Accidental Chords and The Unstoppables, also played a few songs. In a refreshing turn of events, some of the students recreated a சிலம்பாட்டம் (silambattam) to the loud cheers of the audience. The students cheered all the performers with gusto. The culturals events continued until 3.30 pm.

The Sports Day event started at 3.30 pm with a welcome address by students. Dr.R.Ramakrishnan,COE, Tamilnadu Physical Education & Sports University, Chennai honoured us by acting as the chief guest and enlightening us with his educative speech. Dr. Ramakrishnan, along with our Principal, Dr. Sendilvelan, distributed prizes to the winners of the sports events.

A vote of thanks and the national anthem followed to close the festivities.
