AN INDUSTRIAL VISIT

An industrial visit was organised on 20 th April 2023 to WELLOUS PHARMA PVT Ltd located at NavamalMarutur Village, Kandamangalam Block, Villupuram District for the second year (IIIsemester) B.Pharmacy students by PERI college of Pharmacy.With the management's prior approval, the visit was planned. Professor Dr. K.Kulathuran Pillai organized the visit under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. P. Valentina. The visit was co-ordinated by Mrs. W. Anitha, Associate professor and Dr. K.Karthick, Assistant professor.

Wellous Pharma Private Limited is a professionally managed pharmaceutical company established in the year 2016, is the flagship company promoted by Mr.A.KARUNAKARAN, the Managing Director and Director T.G.Venkatesan.


The facility for the oral solid dosage forms of non-betalactum and topical formulation was inaugurated in March 2018. The plant's 3.6 acres of built-up space are divided into two floors with a total area of 30.000 square feet, in accordance with international regulatory standards. The company's goal is to produce medications with the newest compounds of the greatest caliber at affordable prices in order to satisfy the expanding demands of its clients. M/s. Wellous Pharma Private Limited pledged to work toward achieving complete client satisfaction by adhering to their demands through ongoing enhancements to the product, process, and quality system.


A group of 52 students were accompanied by three faculty members to the site visit. Students left our institution's grounds around six in the morning on our college bus, and they arrived at the location at about eleven in the morning. The industry's HR representatives greeted the instructors and students. After that, the pupils were split into two groups of 25 each.


The students were driven by HR staff and HODs from various departments to visit warehouse, production (Manufacturing) department, Quality control department, Quality assurance department, Primary and secondary packaging department, etc. The students examined the workings of a variety of equipment, including tablet punching, tablet granulation, and strip packing machines.


The pupil had a good understanding of how the pharmaceutical sector adhered to GMP and formulation of different dosage forms, actual equipment operation, raw material entry and storage, quality assurance and quality control departments, sterilizing unit, formulation packing, finished product storage, and final product shipping method. It was highly beneficial for the students to connect this tour with their theoretical studies.
