Bachelor of Pharmacy is an undergraduate degree programme under allied health sciences. The course of study for B.Pharm extends over a period of four academic years (eight semesters). For lateral entry students duration of course of study is three academic years (six semesters). It provides exposure to various facets of the Pharmacy profession viz. drug synthesis, manufacture, quality control, dispensing, drugs from natural sources, drug efficacy and safety, etc.,

Eligibility

Educational Criteria

Candidate who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) with 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics and passed in English individually. In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST the marks obtained shall be 35% instead of40% for General category candidates.

English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission.

The candidates who have passed any qualifying examination other than the Higher Secondary Course Examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu shall submit the eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University and such admissions are provisional till the University approves.

Pass in D. Pharmacy course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act

Age Criteria

The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
